I am interested in the effects of human landscape modification on genetic connectivity of Carnivores on Borneo, both on a temporal and spatial scale. My field station is currently based in Malaysian Borneo, where we are working closely with local state agencies and private plantations to investigate the effects of current and future development plans on population structure. While I am specifically interested in population genetics, I belong to a team that is broadly interested in carnivore connectivity as a whole, deploying a myriad of tools to collect movement data that collectively strengthen our understanding of the landscape level interaction between wildlife and their habitat. I am specifically interested in population genomics of Sunda clouded leopards (Neofelis diardi). As the apex predator on Borneo, genomic tools will allow us new insights into genetic processes that were hitherto inaccessible due to the low density of the species and its elusiveness.
